Oy, y'all! There are too many to choose from and sort through all the reviews. People love and hate linksys, DLink; I just don't know! Can anyone suggest a brand and model that you have had good experience with? Also, has anyone heard of air link? Just saw one on sale for $24; of course I'm suspicious...grin! Thank you geekers, please help a gal out.
Good evening to you. Air link I have never heard of. DLink or Netgear are the two that I have used and found to be extremely reliable. DLink seems to have a longer range then the netgear does. I set up a belcon router yesterday and was plesently surprised at how easy it was. Please!!! stay away from linksys. They used to be great but now since they are mass marketting them they really have gone down hill. They seem to not last very long. As far as specific moddels I would say as long as you stick with dlink or netgear or belcon your good to go. You will want to be sure that the router supports the WPA incription which most doo by default.
Willy thank you. I appreciate it. I'll take another look at Belcon, they're cheeper.
Hi.
I have the netgear dg834g and i have had no problems with the signal at all, takes some time to give a computer an ip address the first time it connects, but thats not really a problem.
To the 1st poster who's name i don't kno, you seem to be having a bit of trouble in trying to set up a wireless network. If you have msn, then pm me with your address and i will walk you through everything once you have a router.
Because you have to incript things and stuff like that, its worth taking that bit of extra time to inshore that your network is set up sicurly.
BEN.
lynksys is great. Just bought a 100 dollar router was easy to set up and it works great and has an excellent range on it.
